Cindy Sherman

"I wouldn’t think I would have to call myself a feminist, because I think it’s redundant to be a woman and call yourself a feminist."

Beautiful...

so beautiful…
I love this still so much. the distinct type of depth to the image reminds me of one of my favorite photography books OF ALL TIME by Thomas Allen . The precision and the fullness of this frame and the following are so captivating.  (of course Allen’s is a much more tedious process…he uses old pulp book covers with a conventional 4”x5” film camera and manually manipulates all lighting, focus, and “cast”. it’s brilliant). The expressions on these character’s faces convey just as much as the ones in Allen’s work. The wonderful thing is that in the book covers someone was able to create exactly what they wanted those people to be conveying at that precise moment. All of the elements that make this still image so engrossing take a lot of planning as well, but also just a little bit of magic that collaboration can bring…

Botanical Garden

YES!!
reclaimingm:

World’s largest flower. It’s called the corpse flower. When it opens it smells like rotten human flesh. Set to bloom anytime in the next 3 days.
The Missouri botanical Gardens really are the best.
